Marion-Florence FFA takes third
Members of the Marion-Florence FFA chapter took third place at the South Central District Dairy Cattle Career Development Event Monday at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
Team members competing in the Marion A-team division included Mason Kukuk, sophomore; Louis Holt, sophomore; Adam Palic, freshman; and Allan Cochran, junior.
Marion's freshmen teams also competed in the Greenhand division and placed fourth overall. Individually Derek Stuchlik received seventh place.
Participants at the career development event were required to evaluate and place six classes of dairy cattle representing the Holstein and Brown Swiss breeds.
They also were required to take a test about the dairy industry as well as present two sets of oral reasons.
Team members competing in the Greenhand division included Stuchlik, Adam Cope, Adam Molleker, E.J. Obermeyer, Dane Purkeypile, Blake Riggs, Kayla Williams, David Smith, Corey Seacat, and Mitchell Ragland.
