Marion-Florence school board accepts budget

Hett resigns as food service director

Marion-Florence USD 408 Monday unanimously accepted the 2005-06 budget.

There were no public comments.

School superintendent Lee Leiker had presented the budget, which had some minor changes but kept a mill levy close to the past years, to the board at the regular August meeting.

In other news:

— The board approved 7-0 multiple payment of claims.

— The board accepted the resignation of district food service director Rhonda Hett after 13 years of service.

— The board approved Becky Summerville to take over the position temporarily until the position is filled.

"I am in full anticipation it will be filled by the Sept. 12 board meeting," Leiker said.

— The board passed a $100 salary adjustment for all supplemental staff. Payments of $50 in September and December will be made to the staff.

— In a 7-0 vote the board accepted a $250 base salary increase for all certified staff members.

— A 10-minute executive session was held with no action taken.
