Marion Lions Club presents award to Judy Christensen

Judy Christensen, president of Marion Lions Club, was presented the Melvin Jones Fellow award Thursday. A $1,000 donation to Lions Campaign Sight II was made in her name.

The Melvin Jones Fellowship honors Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Clubs International. It is the highest form of recognition conferred by the foundation. It is largely due to the growth of the fellowship program that Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) has been able to meet humanitarian needs in communities worldwide.

In other business the club discussed the car show to be held June 2 during Chingawassa Days in Marion. It will be held around the historic courthouse. Registration will be north of the courthouse. Classes will be different this year from the past. For more information or to enter call Doug Marler, 620-382-3304.
