A local church visited Tuesday for the monthly birthday party. They brought cake, and prizes were given away. Residents enjoyed showing the prizes they had won. Bill Schimpf called bingo for the group.

Lois sang on Thursday. She always is a big hit with the residents and staff. Robyn kept everyone busy with movies and popcorn.

This past week we did our usual activities including morning exercise group and playing bingo. Bingo is played Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Two weeks ago Wednesday, we went to McDonald's for lunch. Jynifur also came and helped people in and out of the van. We have named our group the "lunch bunch," and have decided we will go out for lunch every other week.

This past week we went Friday and volunteer Joseph, Jynifur's son, came to help.

We have been enjoying lots of movies this week. "South Pacific," "State Fair," and "Oklahoma" are some of the favorite musicals. We talked about why we don't have a musical called Kansas, but remembered we do have "The Wizard of Oz."

Pat was here Friday to say the rosary. She also gave manicures.

The new month is upon us now and plans are being made to make it as busy as July. If you see us out in the big blue van, honk and wave — everyone loves that.

We have started our drive for school supplies for area schools. Residents made apples with the names of all the elementary school teachers on them. We also have added the names of some children. The apples are on the tree in the foyer. If anyone would like to help purchase supplies for school, they may adopt a teacher or child or donate supplies in general. Supplies may be dropped off in the foyer under the apple tree at Marion Manor.
