Marion woman dies July 27 in two-car collision years ago
A Marion woman died July 27, in a two-car collision in rural Harvey County.
According to the Harvey County Sheriff's Department, Joyce M. Hett, 72, was eastbound on a two-lane road when a westbound 2001 Dodge Caravan driven by Melford Logston, 36, Elbing, crossed the center line. The accident occurred on East First Street, near Newton.
Hett, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, died at the scene. Logston died later at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
County seeks input for goals, development
A county survey regarding the Marion County Strategic Plan will be available in locations throughout the county.
Surveys will be available at city offices, libraries, businesses, and senior centers.
Residents will have an opportunity to complete the surveys between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Aug. 10, at Marion County Fair.
Marion County Commission is sponsoring the survey and would appreciate input from residents.
Completed surveys must be returned to the county clerk's office at the courthouse by Aug. 10.
