Marjorie Black

Marjorie Sue Black, 65, died Sept. 7, 2004, at her home in Florence.

Born Dec. 23, 1938, at Jacket, Mo., she was the daughter of William and Ethel (Anderson) Ellis.

On Aug. 14, 1955, she married Edward Black at Ness City.

She was a cosmetologist and member of Florence United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia "Pete" Black.

Survivors include her husband, Edward of Florence; two daughters, Anita Armstrong of Florence and Loretta Looney of Marion; a brother, Leonard Ellis of Florence; two sisters, Virginia Dodge and Shirley Jones of Frankfort; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Joint funeral services for Marjorie Black and her great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Black, were held Saturday morning at Florence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Dyar officiating.

Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

A memorial fund was established with Florence Ambulance Service.
