Martin Klenda

Martin B. Klenda, 94, died April 19, 2008, at Beloit.

Born Jan. 31, 1914, in Marion County, he was the son of Jacob and Josephine (Stika) Klenda.

He graduated from Marion High School in 1932.

On June 15, 1937, he married Magdalen Tajchman at Pilsen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Magdalen; two brothers, Dr. Harry Klenda and Albert Klenda; sister, Elizabeth Vinduska; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include nine sons, Dr. Martin of Beloit, Ben and Joe, both of Wichita, Patrick and John, both of McPherson, Mark of Overland Park, Tom of Marion, David of Yarmouth, Maine, and Mike of LaCrosse; three daughters, Mary Jo Dlabal of Manhattan, Sharon Hatfield of Tucson, Ariz., and Susan Ragole of Centerville, Va.; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorial funds have been established with the Father Kapaun Guild or American Cancer Society in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
