Max Bura

Max F. Bura, 96, Wichita, died Aug. 28, 2007, at Mooresville, Ind.

Born Sept. 10, 1910, at Ramona, he was the son of Maxmiliam and Julia (Pecinovsky) Bura.

He married Beatrice Ucker who preceded him in death.

He owned Storer Refrigeration at Wichita and was a tool and die maker for 30 years at Boeing.

He was a member of the Catholic church, and active in Kansas Senior Games for 20 years, earning state medals in track and field events. He was a national gold medalist in cycling at the first National Senior Olympics.

Survivors include a son, Michael of Monrovia, Ind.; a daughter, Marlene M. Yaw, Monrovia, Ind.; a half brother, Aaron Bura of Emporia; a half-sister, Miriam Riddle of Mesquite, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampa, with Father Hien Nguyen officiating.
