Mellotts to be feted on 70th anniversary years ago
John and Elda Mellott of Peabody will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 15 at the Peabody Senior Center.
John Mellott and Elda Schmidt were married April 7, 1937, at Salem Evangelical Church, Newton. He was a lifelong farmer and she was a homemaker.
The open house will be hosted by their children, Joan and Jerry Jost of Hillsboro and Richard and Vickie Mellott and Esther and Jon Brooks, all of Peabody. The couple also has nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
