Memorial Day services announced

Area cemeteries and communities will remember its fallen soldiers Monday with Memorial Day ceremonies.

At 9:30 a.m., Father Hien Nguyen of Holy Family Parish, will provide an invocation and address at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Florence.

The Rev. David Gass of Community Church of Cedar Point, will officiate at 10 a.m. at Cedar Point Cemetery.

The invocation and address from Pastor Peter Banning of Florence Christian Church will be at 11:10 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

The Memorial Day service at Marion Cemetery will be at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Brett Huebner, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion, providing a memorial tribute. Marion Kiwanis Club will host a hospitality center at Marion Elementary School following the service.

Other area services include a 10 a.m. service at Lost Springs Cemetery, and 10:30 a.m. services at Lincolnville Cemetery and Lewis Cemetery. There will not be a service this year at Grant Township Cemetery.

Colberg-Smith American Legion Post 147 services will be provided by Pastor Rick Branson of Burdick United Methodist Church. Those services will be at Diamond Springs Cemetery, 8:30 a.m.; Wilsey Cemetery, 9 a.m.; Delavan Cemetery, 9:30 a.m.; Mitchell Valley Cemetery, 10 a.m.; Mission Valley Cemetery, 10:15 a.m.; Methodist Cemetery, 10:30 a.m.; and Hebron Lutheran Church, 11 a.m.
