MES instructor interviewed for Time magazine

Pam Jones, Title I aide and Bal-A-Vis-X instructor at Marion Elementary School, was interviewed by Time magazine for an article regarding Bal-A-Vis-X creator Bill Hubert of Wichita.

Marion Elementary School principal Stan Ploutz told members of the school board about the interview during the Nov. 8 meeting.

Jones said she visited with a free-lance writer from the magazine in a phone interview a little more than a week ago. Jones was contacted because of the success her son Keith began achieving in school after beginning the Bal-A-Vis-X program.

"I came home from school one day and had a message on my answering machine from this writer who was wanting to talk to a parent who had been involved with it (the program)," Jones explained.

"I told her I was very happy for Bill and that Bal-A-Vis-X was a wonderful program," Jones said. "I said Keith is just one of many success stories out there."

Jones said she did not know if her remarks would even be included in the article nor when it would be published. However, the freelance writer gave the impression the article could appear in a December issue of the weekly magazine.

Jones and Hubert recently were featured in an article about the Bal-A-Vis-X program at MES in the Marion County Record.
