MHS classes observe reunions

Marion High School graduating classes will host reunions during the Old Settlers' Day weekend.

Class of 1946

Marion High School class of 1946 will begin its 60th reunion by meeting Sept. 30 for breakfast at Stone City Café.

The group will assemble on Walnut Street to board a Clover Cliff excursion train for the ride through the parade.

Class members are invited to enjoy lunch in Central Park and participate in the afternoon program at the gazebo.

A social hour will begin at 4 p.m. at the Hannaford cabin at Marion County Lake.

Dinner and a class meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Stone City Café.

Class of 1951

Marion High School class of 1951 will have its 55th reunion. Class members are asked to meet at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 30 at the VFW post home for coffee and rolls.

The group will gather at 10:45 a.m. on Walnut Street to ride in the parade.

Lunch will be provided at noon at the VFW post home.

Class members will participate in the afternoon program and class recognition at Central Park.

A class photo and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at the VFW.

Class of 1956

Marion High School class of 1956 will celebrate its 50th reunion.

Plans include a meal Sept. 28 at the Harvey House, Florence.

The class will sponsor a Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Marion County Lake hall.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Country Lakes Café, downtown Marion.

A brunch will be served at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 30 at St. Mark's Activity Center, Marion.

A class photo will be taken at 9:30 a.m.

Class members will ride in the parade at 11 a.m. Lunch will be on their own.

The class will participate at 2:30 p.m. in the introduction of classes at the gazebo in Central Park. The class will sponsor a talent show and a $56 drawing for gas money will end the program.

Dinner and a class meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Activity Center.

Class members will attend church services Oct. 1 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. Classmate Rev. Vernon Bowers will have the service. A lunch will follow at Country Lakes Café.

Class of 1961

MHS class of 1961 will have a 45th class reunion.

The group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 for snacks and visiting at the home of Skip and Eileen Sieger.

They will line up for the parade at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 30. Class members are encouraged to have lunch in Central Park, then take part in the class introductions at the gazebo in the afternoon.

A dinner will be held that evening at Burns Community Building, Burns.

Reservations are necessary and may be made by calling Eileen Sieger, 620-382-2032 by Friday.

Class of 1966

MHS Class of 1966 will observe their 40th class reunion.

They will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the home of Stan and Donna May for snacks and drinks. Those attending should bring lawn chairs.

Class members should gather at 10 a.m. Sept. 30 on Walnut Street near Emmanuel Baptist Church for the parade.

They will participate in the class recognition ceremony at 2:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Central Park.

A social hour and dinner will begin at 5 p.m. at Country Dreams Bed and Breakfast, northeast of Marion.

Class of 1971

MHS Class of 1971 will celebrate its 35th class reunion.

Class members will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Wichita Airport Hilton Hotel.

On Saturday, class members plan to participate in the parade and activities in the park.

Class of 1981

MHS Class of 1981 will celebrate its 25th class reunion.

Class members will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Walnut Street to ride in the parade.

They are invited to participate in the afternoon activities at Central Park.

Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at Marion County Lake hall, followed by bowling at SherBowl Lanes at 8:30 p.m.

Class of 2001

Members of Marion High School class of 2001 are invited to a five-year reunion.

Shelterhouse B at Marion Reservoir has been reserved for the day. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at 6:30 p.m. Class members are asked to bring a covered dish, table service, and drinks.
