MHS debate team competes at Halstead
Marion High School debaters faced off against 35 teams from 10 schools Monday, in a tournament in Haven.
The team of Justin Herzet and Colton Olsen won rounds against Nickerson and Lyons, narrowly missing medaling.
Christie Coleman and Tacy Taylor earned a win over a Nickerson team as well.
Individually, Herzet and Coleman earned #1 speaker ratings in two rounds, while Taylor took top honors in one round.
MHS debate coach Mary Griffith also noted the participation of Elisha Hockinsan as a judge for the tournament.
"The other coaches complimented her detailed feedback," Griffith said.
