MHS junior varsity scholars take first at Remington
Marion High School junior varsity Scholars' Bowl team of sophomore Brett Billings, freshmen Matt Thierolf, Adam Regnier, and Adam Svoboda, and senior foreign exchange student Kermin Geldymuradov went undefeated Nov. 22 at the Remington High School JV meet.
In the preliminary round-robin the Warriors defeated Eureka 40-35, Circle 70-40, Bennington 60-40, Andover 70-30, and Council Grove 50-20 before winning over Little River 50-35 in the semi-finals.
In the round-robin finals Marion defeated Centre 60-50 and Wichita Trinity 60-30 to end the evening with a perfect 8-0 record.
Everyone helped with scoring with Thierolf leading with 260 points, followed by Billings with 140, Regnier with 30, and Svoboda and Geldymuradov with 10 each.
The next outing for the freshman/sophomore team is Dec. 17 at Smoky Valley.
