MHS names students of the month

Seniors David DeForest and Megan Hudson have been named Marion High School students of the month.

Hudson, who moved to Marion the middle of her sophomore year, has been a member of the softball, basketball, and volleyball teams her entire time at MHS. She also participated in sports at Clear Creek High School in Colorado.

Outside of the sports realm, Hudson has spent one year participating in forensics and melodrama. Her community involvement includes Bigs in Schools and being a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church worship team.

Hudson is the daughter of Jill and Steve Hudson of Marion, and sister of Brady and Kassie.

DeForest has been a three-sport athlete all four years at MHS, participating in football, basketball, and baseball.

He also has been a member of band, jazz band, MHS Singers, musical pit orchestra, and choir.

His STUCO involvement includes a representative, treasurer, and vice president. He also has spent time as a member of the math team.

He also is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and the PBC youth group. DeForest, who has three sisters, Ashley, Jessica, and Jaclyn, is the son of Chuck and Cathy DeForest of Florence.
