MHS scrimmages are Friday night
Cross country to be a part of activities for the first time
Friday night the fun begins.
The fall sports season in Marion is just around the corner, and the sports drink scrimmage will kick it off.
Volleyball will start the activities with a middle school scrimmage at 5:00 p.m. at Marion Elementary School. The high school squad will play at 5:30 p.m. at Marion High School.
At the football complex, the middle school football team will kick off with a practice scrimmage at 4 p.m. The high school team will start at 7 p.m.
Admission to the events will be a sports drink, which will be collected by the teams and used throughout the year by players.
This year however, there will be an added bonus to the scrimmage. When the Warriors' varsity football team is kicking off, the MHS cross country team will begin stretching on the track. The runners will then take off for a short run and finish back at the track, allowing fans to get a look at the 2004 squad.
