MHS students to compete in High Q contest

A team representing Marion High School will participate in the 2004-05 High Q academic competition Dec. 4 at Washburn University, Topeka.

Representing MHS will be seniors Trevor Jones, son of Rachelle Brenzikofer, Adam Heerey, son of Doug and Lori Heerey, and Dale Vogel, son of Tim and Amy Vogel, and juniors Michael Brookens, son of Robert and Anita Brookens and Rachel Davidson, daughter of Greg and Rose Davidson. Doug Vogel is the coach.

The contest, co-sponsored by WIBW TV-13 and Washburn University, allows teams of high school students from across the state to compete against one another in answering questions on topics such as art, literature, history, math, and science.

Teams earning the top 16 scores will advance to finals and return to Topeka several times for taping sessions.

The televised High Q competition will air on WIBW TV-13 from late January to early May, and will be rebroadcast on KTWU Channel 11.
