Missouri teen dies in rollover
A 16-year-old girl from Kansas City, Mo., was killed Friday evening in a one-car rollover on 290th Road, east of Lincolnville.
Zachariah Markus J. Remmers, 23, Herington, was eastbound on 290th Road in a 1990 Ford Festiva at 8:08 p.m. Friday when he hit some potholes in the roadway. According to Kansas Highway Patrol, the vehicle began to skid causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle entered a north ditch and overturned 1.5 times, coming to rest on the driver's side, facing north, against a steel fence.
Kelly Anne Weakley was transported to Herington Municipal Hospital where she died.
Another passenger, Keven Joe Lockwood, 24, Herington, was life-watched to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. The driver was transported to the Herington hospital.
