MMS volleyball has successful first night
Marion Middle School volleyball teams began the season with four wins Thursday when they hosted the Herington Railers.
The A team won the first game 25-15, lost the second, 24-26, but rallied for the third and won the match with a score of 25-22.
Eighth graders Sarah Guetersloh and Donna Cady each had 12 serves.
The B team won all two games, 25-12 and 25-19, taking the match.
The C-1 team kept the winning streak going by winning their games, 25-22 and 25-19. The C-2 team played two 10-minute games, winning both with scores of 19-8 and 23-8.
Leading seventh grade scorers were Whitney Gordon with 11 and Ashley Garth with 10.
The Lady Wildcats will host another home match Thursday against Hesston. Games begin at 4:30 p.m. at the MHS gym.
