Both Marion Middle School Wildcat football teams traveled Thursday to Lindsborg to take on the Smoky Valley Vikings.

The seventh grade team was victorious, defeating the Vikings 26-6, and improving its record to 3-0.

Dillon Wildin ran six times for 64 yards and three touchdowns.

Lee Vogel, Parker Ash, and Drew Maddox provided the blocks.

Maddox also had 10 carries for 70 yards on the ground.

The Wildcats scored through the air when quarterback Cody Wildin connected with Eric Vogel for a 20-yard touchdown.

Maddox and Tyler Neil led the defense with seven tackles each. Eric Vogel and Cody Wildin added six each.

The eighth grade team fell to 0-3 after a 16-8 loss to the Vikings.

Derek Riggs led the Wildcats on the ground with 12 carries for over 100 yards, and a touchdown.

Seventh grader Nick Klenda had six carries for 19 yards, and a two-point conversion.

Sheldon Boone, one carry for 30 yards, and Mitchell Leppke, five carries for 22 yards, rounded out the running attack.

Gabe Moore had 14 tackles for the Wildcats on defense. Klenda added 12, while Riggs chipped in with 11.
