Molly Holub reunites with unit

The much-anticipated reunion between U.S. Army Spec. Molly Holub and her unit became a reality this past week when Holub traveled to Fort Carson, Colo., and met the unit as it returned from Iraq. No one else in her unit was wounded while deployed.

Holub was wounded in September while serving with the unit in Iraq. The injury resulted in her left eye being removed. She was treated at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and returned to Marion to recuperate.

She went back to Walter Reed a couple of weeks ago for further treatment and evaluation. On Monday, Holub returned to Walter Reed from Colorado. Surgeons will complete procedures to her artificial eye. Dan Holub, Molly Holub's father, said his youngest daughter plans to return to Fort Carson in mid-December to go before the military review board to plead her case to remain in the Army.
