Monica Perez
Monica Perez, 63, of Herington, died Feb. 21, 2005, at Salina Regional Medical Center.
Born March 2, 1941, at Herington, she was the daughter of Tomas and Rosa (Garcia) Mascareno.
She was a homemaker and did housekeeping for residents in Herington. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Herington, sang in the choir, and was a member of the altar society.
On Feb. 6, 1971, she married Ray D. Perez Jr. at Herington. He died in 2001.
She also was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and her parents.
Survivors include a son, Ray Tomas Perez; a twin sister, Veronica Welch; and three granddaughters, all of Herington.
The rosary was recited Friday evening.
Funeral Mass was said Saturday morning at St. John Catholic Church, Herington with the Rev. Mark Wesely officiating.
Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
