Outdoor ceremony unites

A. Moore and T. Svoboda

Amber Noel Moore and Thomas John Svoboda were united in marriage April 24, 2004, during an outdoor wedding at the home of Pat and Jandee Moore. Pastor Rick Branson, associate pastor of Eastmoor United Methodist Church, officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Patrick E. and Jandee K. Moore of rural Marion and the late Sue E. Moore. The groom's parents are Mary Svoboda of Dighton and John Svoboda of Lincolnville.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory and ice colored gown, designed by Maggie Sottero. The one-piece strapless lace-up gown was accented with a draped satin overlay and featured a corseted back. The gown's overlay was highlighted with lightly-beaded tulle panels at the side of the bodice and a sweeping train at the back. A delicate floral beaded design consisting of Swarovski crystals, pearls, sequins, and ice blue beading emphasized the neckline. She carried purple calla lillies with greenery wrapped in plum ribbon.

Ashlee Kathryn Moore, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rae Ann Starky of El Dorado, sister of the bride, and Carolyn Weber of Ogallala, Neb. Junior bridesmaid was Mikayla Starkey of El Dorado, niece of the bride. They wore sleeveless tea-length Victorian lilac dresses laced up the back.

The best man was Buddy Adams of Junction City. Groomsmen were Alan Svoboda of Ramona, cousin of the groom, and Bill Bennett of Nebraska. Junior groomsman was Ethan Thornbro of Marion.

Skylar Thornbro of Marion was the flower girl. Gavin and Gage Starkey of El Dorado, nephews of the bride, were ring bearers.

Ushers were Charlie Svoboda of Lincolnville, cousin of the groom, and Craig Collins of Dighton.

Musicians were Mark Wilcox on violin and Jim Versch on mandolin, both of Marion. Janet Post of Burns was vocalist and guitarist.

Candlelighters were Carrie Thornbro and Stephanie Kraus, both of Marion.

Guest book attendants were Holly Eddy of Emporia and Kimberly Wilson of Manhattan.

Gift attendants were Cole Svoboda of Ramona, Gabe Moore and Jason Hett of Marion, and Hannah Smith of Ozawkie.

A reception was held at the Pat and Jandee Moore residence. Reception hosts were Tobe and Red Moore and Eric and Cindy Moore of Marion and Annette and Eugene Wilson of Dighton.

Reception attendants were Diane Sams, Joella Hett, and Breanne Killough, all of Marion, Sandra Svoboda, Rae Jean Commerford of Americus, and Ann Bryant of Newton.

Parking attendants were Jared Hett and Gavin Moore of Marion.

Caterers were Donna and Jerome Hajek, Janis and Denny Maggard, Diana and Chris Costello, Judy and Mike Powers, and Pam Bowers, all of Marion.

The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and Kansas State University. She helps her husband in his mobile veterinary practice.

The groom is a graduate of Dighton High School and Kansas State University. He has a large animal, mobile veterinary practice.
