Moran will host May 30 health care forum for veterans years ago

Congressman Jerry Moran recently announced he will host a forum for veterans from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30 at Ecker-Fulkerson-Slifer Veterans of Foreign War Post #6958, 420 W. Santa Fe Street, Marion.

The forum will allow veterans to discuss health care and benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Tom Sanders, director of the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center and Charles Woolford, director of the Robert J. Dole VA Regional Office, will join Moran to hear veterans' comments and concerns.

"Veterans' forums allow me to meet with our Kansas veterans to learn about the challenges they face," Moran said. "For their dedication and service to our country, we must continually work to ensure their needs are being met by the VA."

"Many veterans are unaware of what is available to them," said Dan Holub, vice commander of the Marion post. "I appreciate Congressman Moran and the VA coming to Marion. It will be a good time for everyone to come together and learn. I encourage area veterans to attend."

This is the seventh forum on veterans' issues hosted by Moran. Previous forums have been offered in Cimarron, Sabetha, Salina, Clay Center, Goodland, and Hutchinson.

All area veterans and the public are invited to attend.
