Motorists rescued in flood waters
Marion Police Officers responded to a call Friday of a vehicle with several occupants that was washed off the road at 170th and Sunflower. Officers assisted in the rescue of the individuals.
May 30: Warnings were issued for failure to stop at stop sign and no seat belt. A water leak was located by an officer at Second and Main streets. A dog running at-large in Jex Addition was reported but was not located.
Tuesday: A citation was issued for a dog running at-large. A theft investigation was conducted in the 200 block of South Lincoln Street. Response was given to a child out-of-control; an officer met with the parents and the juvenile. Two warning citations were issued for dog running at-large.
Wednesday: A dog running at-large in the 300 block of South Third Street was located and owner was issued a warning. A child sexual abuse case was investigated.
Thursday: A warning was issued for loud music from a vehicle. An open business door was located, checked, and secured. A bicycle that was left in the park was picked up.
Friday: Vehicle identification number inspections were conducted. Vehicle maintenance was completed at the city shop. Streets and dike areas were checked for flooding.
Saturday: Officers patrolled during Chingawassa Days. Response was provided to a wild animal complaint. Officers monitored water levels of the river. An investigation was conducted regarding a complaint of animal cruelty in the 400 block of North Freeborn Street. Two juveniles reported a vehicle almost hit them on South Third Street as they were riding their bicycles. Three out-of-town suspects were caught who were involved in stealing lights from a business on Main Street. Officers were on weather watch.
Sunday: An officer met with a subject regarding a civil issue.
Officers drove 787 miles, and issued one citation, six warning citations, and made four arrests.
