Nelson-Steiner are married

Heather Renee Nelson and Kelly Frances Steiner of Pilsen were united in marriage May 8, 2004, at Marion Christian Church. The Rev. Jim Pohlman officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Penny Nelson of White City. The groom is the son of Connie and Daryl Brooks of Marion and the late Ken Steiner.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a two-piece off-white dress with beading and sequin ornamentation on the bodice. She carried a bouquet of Gerber daisies.

Teresa Gast, sister of the bride of Flowermound, Texas, was the matron of honor. Her attendants were Susan Pender of Junction City, cousin of the bride, Michelle Kickhaefer of White City, and honorary bridesmaid Megan Lewis of Chapman.

The groom wore a white tuxedo with a silver vest and tie.

Kevin Steiner of McPherson, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Shane Svitak of Lincolnville and Nick Evancho of Wichita.

Ushers were Damien Svitak of Lincolnville and Ben Dahlke of Hillsboro.

Ringbearer was Cody Gast, nephew of the bride from Flowermound, Texas. Reilley Gast, niece of the bride from Flowermound, Texas, was flowergirl.

A reception followed the ceremony at Pilsen Community Center.

The bride is a graduate of White City High School and received a degree in sociology from Kansas State University. She is employed as a case manager at Prairie View in Marion.

The groom is a graduate of Centre High School and received a teaching degree from McPherson College. He is employed as an English teacher at Hope High School.

The couple will reside in Pilsen.
