New community building dedicated in Lincolnville

A good crowd attended Sunday's dedication of Lincolnville Community Center. A free meal was served following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony which featured comments from the mayor, county commissioner Dan Holub, "sparkplug" Jane Pigorsch, and several core committee members. They, along with Shane Holthaus, a representative of Kansas Rural Water Association who supervised construction, praised the many volunteers who contributed time and labor to the project. The total manhours contributed will be published at a later date.

The new facility replaces the Lincolnville 4-H Community Building, which served the area for 30 years. The new facility is completely modern, with central heat and air conditioning.

Public rental rates are $50 for one to four hours and $100 for an entire day. Non-profit organizations may use the building for $50. All renters will be required to make a $200 deposit which will be returned after the building passes inspection by a city official.
