LETTERS:   Officer's professionalism appreciated years ago

To the Editor:

I would like to thank one of your fine law enforcement officers for his help and courteous behavior while traveling recently. It is gentlemen like this who make the world a better place.

While traveling back home to Salina late one evening, I ran out of gas a couple of miles from Marion. I later found out my gauge had malfunctioned. I decided to walk into town and try to figure out how to get some gas, and didn't get 10 feet from the car when undersheriff Randal G. Brazil showed up out of nowhere, asking if I needed help.

He kindly gave me a ride into town, called another officer who came up with a gas can, took me to the local gas pump, then took back to my vehicle and waited to make sure my car started. I was definitely being looked after that day.

If this is any reflection of how this man usually handles himself, he is an asset to the community. Thanks again to Mr. Brazil for his help in my time of need.
