Officers investigate battery at high school

Marion Police Officers conducted an investigation of a reported battery that occurred Sept. 13 at Marion High School.

Sept. 12: Property that was recovered was returned to its owner. Traffic control was provided on North Cedar Street for city construction project.

Tuesday: City workers removed tree limbs on the 300 block of West Santa Fe Street to enable semi trucks to safely travel on the street.

Wednesday: A follow-up on a case was conducted.

Thursday: An abandoned vehicle in the 400 block of West Washington Street was checked; everything was OK. A citation was issued for a car stereo being too loud. A warning citation was issued for speeding. Assistance was given to an ambulance crew.

Friday: A juvenile was picked up for burglary and theft, and transported to juvenile detention in Junction City. A juvenile was picked up for battery and transported to juvenile detention. A warning was issued for exhibition of speed.

Saturday: Traffic control was provided at Art in the Park. Assistance was provided to a funeral escort. A welfare check was conducted at September Apartments. A stranded motorist was assisted at Eisenhower Drive and U.S.-56. An officer responded to a noise complaint in the 200 block of North Roosevelt Street. An open vehicle door was located in the 600 block of South Freeborn Street; everything was OK.

Sunday: A 911 hang up was checked in the 100 block of South Roosevelt Street; everything was OK. A possible gas leak in the 300 block of North Freeborn Street was checked by the fire department and Atmos Energy.

Officers drove 918 miles, and issued one citation, two warning citations, and made two arrests.
