Ola Pracht

Ola E. Pracht, 86, formerly of Cedar Point, died Aug. 21, 2004, at Chase County Health & Rehabilitation Center, Cottonwood Falls.

Born July 21, 1918, in Cedar Point, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Zickefoose) Byram.

On March 17, 1937, she married Fred Pracht at Wichita. He died in 2002.

She was a homemaker and farmer/rancher with her husband, Fred. The couple lived on the farm until 1998, when they moved to Cottonwood Falls.

She was a member of Cedar Point Community Church and active in many Cedar Point community projects.

She enjoyed gardening and canning, gathering and picking black walnuts which they sold, sewing, cooking, and entertaining.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Ruth and Twila Byram and Lela Windler; and two brothers, L.W. and Ben Byram.

Survivors include a sister, Esther Whibley of Laurel, Md.; a brother and sister-in-law, Arch and Dolly Byram of Emporia; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls, with the Rev. Eldon Cox officiating.

Burial was in Cedar Point Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with the church or Chase County Health & Rehabilitation Center.
