Olson defeats Tice in bid for Marion mayor
It was a night of upsets where two incumbent candidates lost to opponents.
Marion mayoral candidate Mary Olson soundly defeated incumbent mayor Martin Tice, 348-172.
Hillsboro City Council ward east candidate Shane Marler defeated incumbent councilman Matt Hiebert, 110-83.
In other races, unofficial results are:
— USD 408, position one, Christopher Sprowls, 544; position two, Kathy Meierhoff, 543; position three, Ronald Kirkpatrick Jr., 540; position seven, Sarah Cope, 517.
