Opal Stitt
Opal Stitt, 98, of Herington, died Jan. 9, 2008.
Born April 6, 1909, at Michigan Valley, she was the daughter of Alvin and Ora (Harmon) Ashwill.
On Aug. 1, 1929, she married Avery Stitt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery; grandson, Mark Stitt; great-great-granddaughter, Raven Dawn Samples; five brothers; five sisters; and her parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Samples of Hutchinson; son, Charles Stitt of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Penwell-Gable Funeral Home, Herington. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.
A memorial fund has been established with Medicalodges of Herington.
