Oran Graham

Oran Graham, 75, died Aug. 25, 2007, at his home at Peabody.

Born March 4, 1931, he was the son of William and Inez (Williams) Graham.

He was raised on a farm southwest of Peabody and following graduation from Peabody High School, joined his father's farming operation.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

In 1955, he married Dorothy Bailey at Newton.

He was a founding board member of Harvey County Rural Water District #1, a member of the Walton Township Board of Harvey County, and served on the Doyle Creek Watershed board. He was a bus driver for USD 398 Peabody-Burns, a member of VFW Post #6229, American Legion 0065, and Peabody Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Avis Burke.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Peabody; two sons, Randall Graham of Smolan and Rodger Graham of Elbing; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Peabody Christian Church, Peabody. Burial was at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Memorial funds have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas, North Newton and Peabody Christian Church.
