Orval Goodwin

Orval Lee Goodwin, 92, of Cedar Point, died June 30, 2005, at Vintage Place, El Dorado.

Born Dec. 25, 1912, at Robinson Township, Ill., he was the son of William and Lillie (Boyd) Goodwin.

He was an oil field superintendent and worked for Thomas H. Allen Drilling Co.

On June 4, 1934, he married Mary Parks at Great Bend. They lived in the Cedar Point area since 1979.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and a son, Billy Lee.

Survivors include a son, J.D. Goodwin, Hampton, Va.; daughter, Beverly Reynolds, Cedar Point; two brothers, Clyde of Harlingen, Texas, and Jack of Talala, Okla.; two sisters, Lois VanMatre of Jacksonville, Fla., and Bonny Carinder of El Dorado; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Cedar Point Cemetery with Pastor Andy Torres Jr. officiating.

A memorial fund has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas.
