Owens elected district vice president; will organize District V contest at CHS

Brittany Owens, a junior at Centre High School, was elected District V vice president during the March 30-31 state FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) conference in Topeka.

Owens is among 13 FBLA students from Kansas who will comprise the state board of officers for the year beginning March 31.

Her main duty as vice president will be to organize the District V contest next February at Centre High School. She also will attend all FBLA board meetings and conferences held throughout the year.

She will attend her first big meeting this summer, the 2006 National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn.

Owens' parents are Brian and Tambra Owens of Lincolnville. Lisa Beye is her adviser.

At least 17 students competed in various business contests at the state conference. Allie Will finished ninth in Public Speaking I.
