Parmley, Shipman are married

Andrea Shipman and Travis Parmley of Florence were united in marriage at 4 p.m. June 12, 2004, at Florence United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Moore officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Don and Deb Shipman and Tim and Janette Parmley, all of Florence.

Given away by her father, the bride's gown featured a fitted bodice of white satin with lace applique accented with pearls and sequins. The sheer wide straps also featured lace applique. Her A-line full-length skirt and train had covered button-back closures and the hem was outlined with lace applique.

She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies wrapped with silver ribbon.

Bridesmaids were Dainne Shipman of Newton, sister of the bride, Melissa Parmley of Cedar Point, sister-in-law of the groom, and Jessica Kepler of Florence. They wore floor-length scarlet red, fitted gowns featuring beaded bodices, spaghetti straps, back lacing, and A-line full skirts. Each carried a single white calla lilly wrapped with a silver ribbon.

Groomsmen were James Parmley of Cedar Point, brother of the groom, Joel Thomas of Marion, and Eric Yoder of Great Bend.

Ushers were Jerod Shipman of Florence, brother of the bride, and Cory Nelson of Burdick.

Corin Parmley of Cedar Point, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Cody Parmley of Cedar Point, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Vocalists were Brandi Peterie-Shipman, cousin of the bride, of Florence, and Amy Tajchman of Marion.

Justin Henrickson, cousin of the bride, of Ellis was the candlelighter.

Traci Helmer of Marion was the guest book attendant.

KayCee and Krisde Robinson of Florence served as greeters and were in charge of gifts.

A reception followed the ceremony in the basement of Florence United Methodist Church.

Reception attendants were the bride's aunts, Susan Henrickson of Ellis, Sharon Hess of Marion, Becky Savage of Florence, Julie Morgan of Newton, and Darla Wyss of Independence.

That evening, a wedding supper was held in the yard of Rick and Vickie Turner in Florence. The supper was catered by Junior and Sylvia Parmley.

Following a honeymoon trip to Cripple Creek, Colo., the couple is at home in Great Bend.

The bride is a graduate of Marion High School. The groom, also a graduate of Marion High School, is a fireman/EMT with the City of Great Bend.

Pre-wedding rehearsal

Mike and Mary Jackson hosted a rehearsal dinner June 11 at the American Legion in Florence.
