Peabody police identify juveniles in theft case

On July 27 there was a report of juveniles on store roofs downtown. They were removing light bulbs from the strings of Christmas lights on the buildings and throwing them. Police investigation has identified four individuals. Peabody police are getting the information to the court to have the youngsters processed. About 70 bulbs were destroyed.

A theft was reported Aug. 22 by a juvenile at Peabody-Burns High School open house. A purse was stolen between 7:30 and 9 p.m. from a student helping at the open house. The loss, valued at $730 included cash, a checkbook, camera, MP3 player, and other items.

Also on Aug. 22, Terry Bowen was arrested on an outstanding Marion County warrant for failure to appear.

A juvenile was arrested in a Peabody alley Saturday night. "He was extremely intoxicated," said Peabody police chief Jeff Pohlman. "We arrested him near midnight for consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was taken to juvenile intake for processing."
