People rescued from water when boat overturns

Marion Police Department assisted officials Saturday at Marion Reservoir when a boat capsized and people were rescued from the water.

April 10: A follow-up investigation was conducted regarding a non-injury accident. Parents of a juvenile were contacted when the juvenile did not go to school. Officers patrolled Eisenhower Drive during performances of a circus. Traffic control was provided for fire department. A citation was issued for improper child restraint. An officer responded to a trespassing complaint but the subject had left the property. A resident turned in a child's bicycle as lost property. Two warnings were issued in the 600 block of South Cedar Street for a dog running at-large.

Tuesday: A warning was issued for illegal backing. Two warnings were issued to two semi drivers for operating their vehicles in the area of Sherman and Coble streets; the drivers said they were lost and looking for Eisenhower Drive. Two all-terrain vehicles were stopped for operating on city property.

Wednesday: A dog barking complaint was made in Jex Addition area. An investigation was conducted regarding a stolen checks/forgery case. A lost motorist received assistance. Response was given to a dog barking complaint in Jex Addition; an attempt was made to contact the owner of the animals.

Thursday: A runaway was located in the Central Park area but fled from officers; the subject was taken into custody a short time later. An open business door was located and secured. A juvenile runaway report was made.

Friday: An open business door was found and secured. A lost motorist received assistance.

Saturday: Officers attended a DRAGNET graduation party at Sher Bowl Lanes. A warning was issued for no headlights. An open business door was found and secured. A prisoner was transported for Kansas Highway Patrol.

Sunday: A warning was issued for violation of noise control from an automobile. A civil process was delivered. An open investigation of theft of services was conducted regarding a report of a person climbing a utility pole. Graffiti that was drawn with chalk was removed from a basketball court area at Central Park. A report of a prowler in the 700 block of Nickerson Street remains under investigation. An officer responded to a business alarm; everything was OK. A stranded motorist received assistance.

Officers drove 781 miles, and issued one citation, nine warning citations, and made one arrest.
