Rachel's Challenge is March 7

A program will be presented to Marion students March 7 to inspire students to make positive changes to their schools.

Rachel's Challenge is a program designed as a tool for students, parents, and communities to promote positive change.

Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. Her acts of kindness and compassion with the contents of her six diaries have become the foundation for one of the most life-changing school programs in America.

A one-hour school presentation will be made at 9 a.m. March 7 for Marion High School students at Marion High School gymnasium. Marion Middle School students and sixth graders will hear the presentation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A community presentation for parents and community leaders will be at 7 p.m. at Marion High School gymnasium.

The program is sponsored by a grant from the Eighth Judicial District Community Corrections.
