Raid nets drugs, child pornography
Parents warned
Area law enforcement agencies banded together Monday night to serve a search warrant in Marion.
At 10:31 p.m. Monday, officers from Marion Police Department, Marion Sheriff's Department, Peabody Police Department, and Hillsboro Police Department executed a search warrant at 321 S. First Street, Marion.
The search warrant was obtained as a result of an on-going investigation.
Officials found alcohol, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and adult and child pornography.
Three juveniles were arrested and taken to the sheriff's department for processing. Two adults were released and will face charges after all of the evidence has been reviewed.
Criminal charges may include possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol by a minor, furnishing alcohol to minors, and exploitation of a child.
Marion Police Chief Josh Whitwell will review evidence with Marion County Attorney Susan Robson to determine criminal charges to be filed.
Officials remind parents to be involved with their children. Officials found nude photographs of local, under-age girls.
Teens e-mailing and texting nude photographs of themselves to each other has become a national trend and concern of parents and law enforcement.
Called "sexting," teens send nude or explicit photographs of each other. Law enforcement remind parents and children that an explicit digital photograph can be sent around the world in a matter of minutes, attracting attention and predators. The image will exist forever, haunting the victim for the rest of his/her life, officials said.
