Random Thoughts

With so much political news on TV and in the newspapers and magazines I hardly know what to write about.

I was pretty excited when Barack Obama went to El Dorado, my old hometown. To think that his grandparents lived there and his mother born there brought the national news close to home.

Then Gov. Sebelius got so much attention. I really thought her speech after President Bush's report on the state of the nation was very non-partisan. Did you know she has modeled for Vogue magazine? Her pictures will be in the February issue. It is just more than an ordinary person can take in.

Here is another cat story. It seems a cat had somehow gotten into her owner's luggage and crawled out of it at a man's home 1,300 miles away. Evidently, she was wearing a tag so he called her owner. It only cost $80 to have her shipped home.

I remember a man picked up my mother's bag at the airport. Her name was on it so he called her. Be careful what you pack in your bag.

In the movie, "The Bucket List," the actors who are dying soon listed what they would like to see before they died. I could make a long list but the main thing I would like to see is the Taj Mahal.
