Random Thoughts

I'm glad that romance is still around. A young man in Hillsboro is proud of it. He flew to Paris where he met his girlfriend (surprise to her). He knew her schedule, as she had gone abroad with a college class. So he went to the Eiffel Tower where her class was going and there, I suppose he was down on his knee, proposed. He had the diamond ring in his pocket. No movie could do a better scene. Isn't that better than living together before marriage? So romantic. Do you remember the movie "Sabrina" with Harrison ford and I believe, Audrey Hepburn were the stars.

All the high schools are getting ready for prom. How can students think about lessons when they are thinking about new clothes, dates, and hairdos? It is an exciting occasion. Oh yes, flower corsages, too.

I know you don't want to hear about mine but I'm going to tell you anyway. I don't remember a new dress. I did have a date. We just walked up to the old stone building, had dinner and speeches. No games or dancing. Most of the boys didn't have cars so no trips out of town. We were just as happy as bees. Customs do change. Maybe TV has made us realize that there are other things in this world.

What did you do with February's extra day?
