Maybe we should send the "powers that be" to college (to study math). Here we are sending our youth to college to learn basic lessons in 2+2=4 or 2-2=0. Part of it should be if you own a building you should plan to maintain it. It seems that every state college or university is in need of repair. Who is in charge?

My last book was "Arctic Homestead," by Norma Cobbs. She tells of her family's experience taking a homestead claim in Alaska. The only land available was near the North Pole. Wild animals, black bears, grizzly bears, blizzards, zero weather, plus a few unfriendly people were what they had to contend with. The family consisted of a man and his wife and five children under 12 years of age. They managed to survive and claim their land but at what a price.

The school play was a great success, the young performers were fantastic. Congratulations Janet, again.

It must be spring. Tulips, jonquils, and forsythia just "bursting" out all over. The problem is shall I take off those winter blankets yet?

By the way, Larry Hatteberg called me to apologize for calling me "Nora" on his TV show. Not only that, he sent me some beautiful flowers. I really appreciate all the cards, telephone calls, and kind words from many who saw the show.
