Random Thoughts

I just finished reading a novel, "The Memory Keeper's Daughter." It was a very gripping story about twins born to a doctor and his wife. The first born was a healthy son. The second a daughter. The minute the doctor saw her he realized she had Down Syndrome. He and an attendant nurse were the only ones present. He handed the baby to her and told her to take her to an institution for retarded children. When she got there she couldn't bear to leave her in that place so she kept her and raised her. The doctor told his wife that the baby had died. Imagine what a tangle emerged in that story.

My daughter, Wanda will be back in her Colorado Springs home when this article is printed. I'll miss her. We just get used to each other, then it is time to leave. We both contracted bad colds. We each tried to tell the other what to do for a quick cure.

"Your Turn" is a hot spot in the Marion County Record. Just so it doesn't get out of hand. Our ministers tried to cool the troubled waters but got into trouble. Hey! That is what they are supposed to do.

A recent story told about a retired couple in New York who decided to move to Arizona. However, they didn't want to subject their pet cats to the uncomfortable luggage compartment on a plane, so they hired a taxi. Only 2,500 miles and cost of $3,000 plus meals and hotels. The names of the cats were Pretty Face and Cleopatra.
