Random Thoughts

I just finished reading the book, "Loving Frank," by Nancy Horan, published in 2007. It is the story about Frank Lloyd Wright. It tells of his love affair with a woman not his wife. This love for each other is so strong that they leave all other family members. You have to have some sympathy for them. He designs a beautiful home for them.

Maybe you have seen some of the houses he has designed. I think there is one in Wichita. They are different, as he uses the natural lay of the land on which the buildings stand. I have visited Tempe, Ariz., where he designed all the buildings on the university campus there. His houses have been outstanding and unusual. He lets his imagination take flight and is able to carry his plans into the actual building. He also designed furniture and the landscaping.

I am now reading a little book called "All the Pretty Horses," by Cormac McCarthy. It was published in 1992. It takes some cowboys on a horseback tour into the southwest United States and their adventures through the Southwest and into Mexico.

My Colorado Springs daughter, Wanda, has been spending the month of April with me. She always parks her car in my back yard under a big tree and the dear little birds have fun messing it up.
