Random Thoughts

I'm sitting here looking at the ring on the fourth finger of my left hand. It hasn't always looked this way. When I first received it, it was a cluster of small diamonds. Years ago I had it, along with my plain yellow gold wedding ring made into one ring. It is sort of flat and sort of mannish. I consider it a combination wedding and engagement ring, all in one.

The ring was given to me by my husband. It had belonged to his mother. She is gone so I can't ask her any questions about it. I wish I knew where she got it. Her first husband had died in an accident. She then married my husband's father. Did he give her the ring? I do like mysteries.

I have read a lot of them. They are not my favorite. I like history and real life stories better.

Oh, if there is anyone out there who is thinking of stealing my ring, forget it because I don't think it is terribly valuable.

I now have a book from the library about the faith of our presidents' wives. That ought to be interesting. I'm sure they prayed a lot for their husbands because they have so much responsibility and are watched so closely by the media and all of us. We could do some praying, too, as we are all involved.

God bless America!
