Random Thoughts

I'm reading a book called, "1920: The Year of Six Presidents." That really brings back memories. I didn't think I paid much attention to politics back then but some of it must have stuck. Many of the names of the people involved in our country's affairs are very familiar names. The fight for women's rights is brought to a head. The women back then who were involved, went through hell and high water to get the privilege to vote. What a year! I wonder how we survived. The book is well-written, sometimes humorous.

I wonder if the 2008 election might be a lot like 1920. We will find out.

Mother's Day has come and gone. My family had an enjoyable day at Marion County Lake. Very relaxing and simply a gorgeous day. When traveling in Europe we might want to shop but the shops were closed for a religious holiday.

Holidays are a wonderful break from our work-a-day life. It is our time to spend with family and friends. It renews our energy and makes life worth living. Besides, it helps us to enjoy our families. Life is just too short to work, work, work without doing something fun and enjoyable.

OK. Turn your TV back on. I'm through preaching.
