Random Thoughts

I have just learned another bit of Kansas history. Lutie Lytle of Topeka was the first female law professor in the world, according to newspapers back then. She taught in Central Tennessee College law school in 1898. Not only that, she was an African-American. To say she was first in the whole world is a pretty big statement. Kansas should be proud to claim her.

Have you ever been nervous driving under an overpass on the highway? Once my sister and I were driving from Kansas City and some boys threw rocks at us from the overpass. A couple in Washington state were struck by a cow falling from a cliff. It landed right on their car. They managed to survive but the cow didn't. I'll bet they didn't order steaks for awhile. One time when I was in Mexico at a bull fight I gave up beef for awhile. My sympathy was with the bull. I got over it.

It was called Armistice Day back when World War I ended. Now it is Veterans Day for anyone who has served in the military.

President Woodrow Wilson tried to organize a peace treaty among all the countries that had been involved but to no avail. Too much jealousy, greed, and selfish feelings in all the participants. Man doesn't learn from history, does he?
