Random Thoughts

Some weeks there is nothing to do. Everything is just calm and dull. Well, I really could do something. For instance, there are always closets and dresser drawers to be cleaned.

This past week I had a lady paint my living room. I thought she would just slap the new paint right over the top of the old paint. No siree, she was a perfectionist and went right down to the roots. Of course, I approved such service and now my walls just look gorgeous.

On Tuesday I spent the afternoon at Marion National Bank signing books. The books contain pictures of historical things and people and places of the past I Marion. It was a fun afternoon. I felt honored to be chosen.

I had a disaster with the bathroom floor. It buckled, so I had a carpenter and plumber for guests with me and no bathroom.

I hope I can hibernate for the rest of the winter.

Did I tell you I'm reading a book about a slave ship? That is an eye-opener. A lot of the African chiefs sold their own people. The ships were horrible. I don't know how the writer obtained so much information.

My son-in-law, Bob is a Civil War buff. He loaned me with some books on the subject. I'll tell you about what I learn.

A bride was very unhappy about the flowers she had ordered from a florist. He sent an altogether different color than what she had ordered. She paid around $30,000. Now she is suing him for $400,000 for restitution and damages.
