I was reading about the sandwich generation. Now that doesn't mean something to eat. Sandwiches are great. You can put almost anything between two slabs of bread and it will taste good. I like chicken salad, and oh the old standby, hamburger. I don't want tomato, cheese, or lettuce on mine. I want a plain, juicy hamburger with onion and dill pickles with plenty of mustard. In the summertime, the BLT is popular. Tomato, bacon, lettuce, and mayonnaise. Yummy!

Getting back to the sandwich generation. That means that responsible adults may find their aging parents on one side. They have run out of their retirement funds. The children who are ready for college are on the other side. The adults are squeezed in between.

Where is Franklin Delano Roosevelt? He helped us solve our problems during the Depression in the 1930s. I'll bet he could figure out something. It's something to think about.

I think we all want all the most expensive appliances, the fast preprocessed food, air travel, and the newest fashions. We want all these wonderful things that we have come to love. For instance, have you priced children's toys this year? We have encouraged our children to use electronic gadgets and these things become obsolete before you get them out of the package.

Do you want to hear about what I had as a child? And a merry Christmas to you, too!
